Periodontitis: the first cause of loss of teeth

Gengivitis is the initial and least serious form of periodontal inflammation: the gums look red, swollen and bleed easily. Gengivitis is often caused by a lack of dental hygiene and is therefore mainly treated through the ablation of tartar and training in oral hygiene in the home. Good oral hygiene is the fundamental presupposition to keep our mouth healthy. If left untreated, the forms of gengivitis can develop into periodontitis. This is a weakening of the deep support tissues of the tooth which in the majority of cases end with the loss of the tooth. Periodontitis is the first cause of loss of teeth.

Regenerative surgery

In some cases it is possible to perform periodontal surgery which, with the help of biocompatible materials and biomimetic substances restore a healthy periodontium.
